V Involved - Volunteering for Young People

Surrey vinvolved is an exciting project working across the county to increase the quantity, quality and diversity of youth volunteering.  We have bases at each of the Surrey YMCAs.

Surrey vinvolved is part of a national initiative funded by v, the youth volunteering charity, and vinvolved teams can be found across the country.

Surrey vinvolved has 3 main aims:

• To create new volunteering opportunities across all sectors, catering for all interests.
  
• To broker young people into opportunities and support them to set up their own projects.
  
• To champion youth-led action through developing and facilitating Youth Action Teams.

The Surrey vinvolved team will be working across the county with main bases in Reigate and Redhill YMCA, Woking YMCA and Guildford YMCA.

vinvolved is a national initiative funded by v, the youth volunteering charity, and teams are being launched in each local authority area.  They will comprise of Youth Volunteer Advisors and Youth Volunteer Development Managers and the teams have 3 main aims:

• To create new volunteering opportunities across all sectors through supporting, networking, training, capacity building, and sharing good practice to create a vibrant youth volunteering community.
• To broker young people into opportunities and support them to set up their own projects.
• To champion youth-led action through developing and facilitating Youth Action Teams.

Surrey vinvolved will be drawing on 9 years of Millennium Volunteer experience to create 8000 new opportunities, inspiring and engaging 8000 more 16 – 25 year olds into volunteering.  This will benefit organisations, the communities and environment of Surrey plus the young volunteers themselves.
